What makes Mihenk last is not the first thing you see — it is the layer you don't. From material to mechanism, every component is a verifiable quality decision.

Registered design — swing and mechanism

Mihenk's form and its reclining mechanism are protected by a design registration at the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (No. 2026 000125). The registration covers both the appearance of the swing and the multi-position mechanism.

Solid Iroko — with controlled drying

The frame is 100% solid Iroko (Milicia excelsa) — a dense African hardwood. Outdoors it does not rot or warp; over the years it patinas. The raw timber is kiln-dried to minimise expansion and contraction — the first line of defence against cracking and joint separation.

Italian teak oil — not varnish

The surface is sealed with three progressive coats of Italian teak oil. Unlike varnish it leaves no film; it penetrates the wood and lets it breathe. Sun and moisture are balanced; it does not peel or crack. One re-oiling per year is enough.

Cushion and fabric — Solution-Dyed Olefin

Cushions are made with 100% Solution-Dyed Olefin outdoor weave: colour is set at fibre stage, giving light-fastness 7-8 (ISO 105-B02) — the top class for resistance to fading in direct sun. Water-repellent, antibacterial (no mould or odour in damp conditions), breathable open weave; passes the cigarette (smouldering contact) test. The common “Oxford” cushion fabric is piece-dyed polyester with a PU/PVC coating: the colour sits on the surface and fades within 1-2 seasons, the coating cracks, turns sticky and peels, and because it is airtight it feels hot to sit on. Solution-Dyed Olefin has no coating — nothing to peel, the colour is the fibre itself. The fill is silicone fibre — it does not collapse or hold moisture. Two colours: mustard continues the golden-brown tone of the Iroko, anthracite adds contrast.

Invisible connection architecture

A swing lasts only as long as its weakest joint. We use top-segment, corrosion-resistant stainless fittings — and we keep them invisible: with a hidden connection architecture, no bolt or screw shows from the outside. They do not rust or loosen even in salt coastal air, and are safely sized for a 400 kg load.
